Emerald Crystal Box

An obsidian-like box with emerald crystals growing out of it I designed and built as gift. It has functioning hinges.

There will be no download this time. It was a special gift and I'd like to keep it unique, at least for now. I don't expect anyone to be crazy enough to want to build it anyway.

Build notes:
The most difficult thing I've worked with yet, partly because it's very detailed with lots of small parts, partly because "random" shapes like these aren't easy to build. Printed on photo paper, which was a big mistake. Photo paper is covered by a thin plastic layer which makes most glues not stick to it. I had to peel it off the back of every part and sandpaper every flap to make it hold. Plus the color fades or changes when you fold it. And it's expensive. Do not use.

Height: 112mm

Fallout 3: Bottlecap Mine

Bottlecap Mine, a Fallout 3 weapon made out of a Vault-Tec Lunchbox, a sensor module, a cherry bomb and a handful of bottlecaps. Very powerful and also suitable for overkills in The Shady Sands Shuffle style.

Build notes:
This one requires a little more than just papercraft skill, as it needs wire for several of its parts (handle, antenna, colored wires). The best kind is a 1mm wide aluminium wire, for the colored ones it's slightly thicker.
It's good to build the main parts (lunchbox, sensor module, handle), then wrap them by the duct tape and finally add the details. The handle holders should be a little longer than what's in the model, otherwise you might have trouble getting your hand under the handle. And don't forget to reinforce it.

Height: 243mm (with antenna)

TESLA 427A Poezia

A 1962 radio receiver manufactured by TESLA, a Czech electronics company. I have a fondness of older electronics and I felt like making one. Designed this from the scratch. The model is entirely mine. Textures were created from photos, courtesy of the receiver's owner, Padza.

Build notes:
This papercraft is relatively easy and should look good with some reinforcing of the biggest areas. I recommend completing the front and back parts separately, then connect them using the side and top parts. Finally, close it up with the bottom piece.

Skyrim: Glass Sword

Glass sword, one of typical weapons from TES games, now available in this plane of Oblivion as well.

Build notes:
This took a bit too long to finish. Partly because I was being careful with it, and it paid off. Word of warning: this model is complex and requires precision, patience and precision. I didn't find it in me to forsake all the details - but be assured I tried to bring down the polygon count a bit, including fixing some really awful errors in the texture and the model itself. Don't try to build this without having a good bit of experience.
